BREAD PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

START DATE: March 23
STARTING HOURS: Thu - Mon: 36 hrs/wk. Will shift to 40hrs/week once bakery retail hours expand.
PAY: $18/hr
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking an energetic and curious individual to assist in all aspects of bread and sweets production in our small sourdough bakery. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn about fermentation, grains, dough shaping, cookie and other sweets production, and general bakery operations. While professional baking experience is not a requirement, professional kitchen experience is a plus. Must be able to lift 50lb flour bags, and work quickly and cleanly! Duties include:

  • Dough shaping;

  • Prescaling & mixing afternoon sweets / savories;

  • Afternoon ingredient prescaling for morning bread mix;

  • Ingredient preparation (slicing, chopping, icing prep, seed toasting) for breads, pizza, muffins, etc;

  • Hand mixing starters for bread mix.

  • Light cleaning, including some dish work.

  • Other bakery tasks as needed.


OPENING RETAIL/FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER

START DATE: March 24
STARTING HOURS: First two weeks: 20 hrs a week Mon/Thurs/Fri. Schedule will expand to 40 hours while training new retail positions. Once training is complete, regular schedule will be Thursday - Mon, 6:30-2:30.
PAY: $20-25/hr DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front of House Manager to oversee the opening and continued daily operations of our bakery, which is expanding to include coffee service and prepared sandwiches. This position will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service through friendliness, professionalism, and a strong knowledge of our product lineup, as well as maintaining a clean, well-stocked and inviting environment for customers. Demonstrated background in front of house management, particularly food and/or coffee service, is strongly preferred. POS setup and bookkeeping experience a plus. Duties include:

  • Overseeing daily front of house operations.

  • Hiring, training & managing retail support staff including scheduling.

  • Monitoring inventory of FOH supplies and managing ordering / receiving on a weekly basis.

  • Managing coffee / tea program.

  • Handling customer inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.

  • Collaborating with owners and kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between front and back of house in regards to menu items & ingredients.

  • Implementing food safety regulations and ensuring compliance with health codes.

As this location will not yet be open at the time of hiring, much of the setup, organization, and workflow design will be the responsibility of the Front of House Manager, with support from bakery owners.


PASTRY BAKER

START DATE: April 8
STARTING HOURS:
Training 8-4 the first week; permanent schedule will be 6am-2pm Wed/Thurs/Fri; 5am -1pm Sat; 6am-2pm Sunday. (40hrs/week)
PAY:
$18-21 DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a morning pastry baker at our growing bakery. This position will be responsible for baking off handheld baked goods each morning for our storefront cafe and for distribution to our wholesale customers. Professional baking experience and/or professional kitchen experience a major plus for consideration for this role. Must be able to work quickly, cleanly, and manage multiple projects, as well as lift 50lb flour bags. Duties include:

  • Baking all morning pastries.

  • Mixing and prepping/baking sweet and savory menu offerings for the day, as well as prep for the next day’s bake.

  • Adding ingredients to the ordering list as needed.

  • Soup and sandwich prep tasks.

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient operations.


FRONT OF HOUSE/RETAIL ASSOCIATES
START DATE: April 26
HOURS:
PT hours available Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday. Start times vary between 6:30am - 10:30am.
PAY:
$17-20 DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking energetic, friendly, food-loving individuals to staff our retail counter. Duties include:

  • Creating a welcoming, clean and organized environment for all customers.

  • Facilitating all aspects of customer-related front of house work, including answering questions (in person and by phone), updating menu boards, stocking bread and grocery shelves, and filling orders.

  • Operating the cash register and handling cash & card transactions accurately.

  • Maintaining a clean and organized work space.

  • Implementing food safety regulations and ensuring compliance with health codes.

  • Assisting with food preparation and handling as needed (wrapping sandwiches, bagging baked goods, serving soups, etc).

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient operations.

  • Brewing and serving drip coffee. Previous coffee and retail experience is a plus!

  • Handle general bakery tasks as instructed by our front of house manager and owners.


CLEANER/CLOSER
START DATE: April 26
HOURS:
Thurs - Mon, 1-7pm: 25 hrs/week
PAY:
$16-20 DOE
ROLE & REQUIREMENTS: Job duties include: washing dishes and maintaining a clean dish station, daily bathroom cleaning, mopping all floor spaces, laundry, cardboard/trash management, and deep clean rotating projects (wall wiping, window cleaning, walk-in cleaning), etc. Responsible for turning off lights and locking doors upon leaving.
